Flower Show Rules

Entries must bemade on theOfficial Entry Forms, or a copy of one, and returned to either Mrs. S. COE at 180,
Buriton Road, Harestock, or Mr. John BIDDLECOMBE at 19, Rozelle Close, Littleton, not later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, 3rd
September 2008. Exhibits cannot be accepted by Mr Biddlecombe or by Mrs Coe. |

Exhibits must be staged at the Showground before 10a.m. on the morning of the Show by the exhibitor or a person appointed by the exhibitor.
Judging will commence at 10.30 a.m. |
| 3. |
The exhibit fee will be 20p for the first 25 entries, thereafter all entries are FREE. All Young Persons' classes are 10p. |
| 4. |
No Exhibitor is allowed more than one entry in any one class. |
| 5. |
All competitive entries must have been grown or made by the Exhibitors.
Pot plants must have been in the possession of the Exhibitor for at least three
months prior to the show. The Committee reserves the right to inspect
gardens and/or allotments. All entries in the Young Persons' Classes must be
the sole work of the young person. |

| 7. |
All entries in Sections 'A' to 'L' inclusive will be judged in accordance with the R.H.S. Show Handbook.
The Floral Art Exhibits (Sections 'M' and 'N') will be judged in accordance with the N.A.F.A.S. Competition Manual, 1st Edition
2001. The W.I. competition will be judged in accordance with the rules of 'On With the Show'. |

The Committee reserve the right to withdraw any prize(s) should the Judges consider the entries
to be of insufficient merit. |
| 9. |
Vases, containers or plates will be supplied by the Organiser except in the Display Classes, the Floral
Art and Young Persons' Flower classes and classes 91 and 92. |
| 10. |
In all Classes where cut material is shown all stems must reach the water in the vase or receptacle. |
| 11. |
The Committee will not be responsible for any loss or damage to exhibits or other objects during the day of the show. |
| 12. |
All exhibits in the Vegetables, Flowers and Fruit Sections must have been grown by the exhibitor.
It would be helpful if you could name the variety of your entries as this will assist the Judges if the standard of entries are close. |

Entries are accepted on the understanding that they remain staged until 5p.m.
when they can be removed. Any remaining at 5.30 p.m will be disposed of. |
| 14. |
All Classes are open to ALL who wish to enter, given the rules concerning Novice Classes described in Section "B". |
| 15. |
In the Floral Art Sections, the Handwork and Art Sections, materials may be purchased. |
| 16. |
The Show Committee will control the placing of all Exhibits. The Exhibitors
are responsible for placing them in the spaces allocated. Exhibit Cards will be supplied
and they should be placed face down by the exhibits. |
| 17. |
Points will be awarded as follows:
1st - 5 points, 2nd - 3 points, 3rd - 1 point.
Cups will be awarded, and will be held by the Winner for ONE year. They may be won for several years running.
Winners may have the cups engraved should they so wish. A list of winners will be displayed near the entrance
of the Marquee. |

Prizes will be given as follows:-
Sections "D" and "E" only: 1st - £1, 2nd - 60p, 3rd - 40p.
Remainder: 1st - 50p, 2nd - 30p, 3rd - 20p.
Prize stickers will be placed on the Exhibit Cards. All children 10 years and
younger entering the Children's Classes will receive a "Well Done" Certificate. |
| 19. |
Prizes can be obtained from the Committee Table whilst the Show is open. Any not claimed will be
retained by the Show Treasurer for one week, after which they will be returned to the Society Funds. |
| 20. |
Any protest must bemade in writing and delivered to amember of the Show Committee personally by 3p.m.on the day of the Show. |
| 21. |
The decision of the Judges and the Show Committee will be final. |
| 22. |
The Show will be run in accordance with the latest R.H.S. Show Handbook. |
| 23. |
No vehicle to approach the Marquee at the end of the Show until it is announced on the Loud Speaker system. |
