The 2007 Children's Pet Show was yet another success. The number of pets entered may have been the highest yet, and with well-behaved animals, fine weather and hot dogs on demand, everyone was a winner.
The Cup for Best Dog in Show was won by "Toby" who was also awarded Best Puppy. All Dog classes were well-contested, with some creative entries in the Fancy Cress class. "Roly" was awarded Best Pedigree Dog and "Tango" won Best Cross Breed Dog.
Other classes were just as popular, with lots of cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other pets including snails, worms and a chicken! The Cup for Best Other Pet went to Willow, winner of the Youngest Cat and Best Cat In Show rosettes.

After nine years of fantastic service in organising the Pet Show, this was the last show to be organised by Gillian Thomas. Gillian has done a brilliant job, and it is good to know that she has enjoyed the show as much as everyone else. The following is a note from Gillian:

I would like to say a big thankyou to everyone who has taken part in the Pet show for the past nine years.
It's been great fun organising it and I have never ceased to be amazed at the numbers of you and the variety of pet's that have turned up year after year to support it. This year was our best year ever and we made a profit of £360. In the nine years I have been organising it we have never had to put our wet weather contingency plans into force, I think that's pretty amazing considering the mixed weather we get. So, once again I would like to thank everyone who has given their support whether it be as a competitor, steward, judge or sponsor because without all of you there would be no show at all. A big thank you must go to Clive who has kept me on the straight and narrow and let me know when I needed to get the organisation started for the next show. We think we have someone to take over the running for 2008 so the Show will go on! I hope you will all give the new organiser as much support as you have given me.
